Jeremy Clarkson makes devastating pub confession: ‘Losing money every day’
Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson opened up on his pub’s finances.
Jeremy Clarkson has revealed his pub is haemorrhaging cash, despite being filled to capacity with customers day in, day out. The former Top Gear presenter’s latest Amazon Prime series, Clarkson’s Farm, launched earlier this month as he detailed his struggles.

In episode four, Jeremy meets with his consultant, Charlie Ireland, to review the trading figures for the opening four months of operations – and he’s distinctly unimpressed with the findings. Getting straight to the point, he states: “Profit before taxation, which gives me hope… minus £8,486. That’s the headline figure, we’re losing money.” Scanning further through the paperwork, he tells Charlie: “We’re fully booked every day, couldn’t get any more people in if we tried… I’m stumped. We’ve got people coming, and we’re losing money.”
Charlie proceeded to explain that it was paradoxically the pub’s very success that was pushing costs upwards.
He said: “It’s partly the success that’s causing the additional cost, as the infrastructure of the pub can’t cope.”
In another episode, Jeremy also highlighted some of the unforeseen costs he was incurring at the establishment.
He pointed to the expense of theft, disclosing that someone had stolen £200 worth of cooking oil the night before, before directing his focus towards the pub’s lavatories.

He appeared utterly baffled as he remarked: “Every single day, somebody steals the lightbulbs, and the urinal traps, we’ve had to screw these down to stop them being nicked. Who steals urinal traps?”
Heading back indoors, he then brandished one of his Hawkstone brewery pint glasses and asked: “Glasses, wanna hazard a guess how many of these are stolen every week?”.
Following a short pause he revealed: “No you’re quite wrong, it’s 400. 400 glasses a week are nicked from here.”
Series five of Clarkson’s Farm available to stream now on Prime Video.
