Tony Beets’ $2.3 Million Gold Haul Puts Him on Track to Break His Record
Tony Beets Pushes for a Big Gold Haul, With Plans to Increase His Gold Production
A Season Full of High Stakes and Big Decisions
The pressure is on for Tony Beets as he and his team gear up for the final stretch of Gold Rush Season 16. With gold prices high and time running out before freeze-up, Tony’s operation has never been more ambitious. After already banking $14 million, Tony is not slowing down. He has set his sights on a record-breaking haul, and he’s pulling out all the stops to ensure his operation can keep up with the demand.
This season, Tony’s focus has been on maximizing gold production with his two wash plants: Roxanne and Big Red. These two machines have been the backbone of his operation, but with Sluice Lot and Find-A-Lot also running, Tony has laid the groundwork for a huge payout. If everything goes smoothly, this could be one of his biggest gold-producing seasons ever.
The Big Corner Cut: Tony’s Massive Excavation Area
Tony has turned his attention to the corner cut—an area that is much larger than anything he’s worked with before. Described as 46 acres, this cut could be the key to reaching his season goal. However, it’s not all smooth sailing. The scale of the operation means more complexity and more potential pitfalls. Tony’s goal is simple: run the plants, move the material, and get the gold out.
“We got one plant going on the left, got another going on the right. What more could you ask for?” Tony said, highlighting the scale and ambition of his operation. “Life’s pretty good when everything’s running smoothly.”
But that smooth operation would require the trommel to run consistently, which has posed some challenges in Tony’s other locations, including Paradise Hill.
Tony Struggles With Water Supply at Paradise Hill
At Paradise Hill, Tony is facing complications with the 350-yard trommel, which has been having trouble getting a consistent water supply. The previous water source, a pond located a mile away from the trommel, was too far for the pump to handle, leading to frequent breakdowns.
To fix this, Tony’s team is working on creating a new feeder pond closer to the trommel. This requires building up and widening the dike road, clearing trees, and digging out a new pond to hold the water. This change is essential if Tony wants to keep his equipment running smoothly.
“Once we get this new pond set up, we can get the pump in place, and things should be up and running soon,” Tony said.
The team was under tight deadlines, as Tony wanted to have the new pond completed within one week. For Tony, it’s always a race against time, and every minute counts. With the added pressure of winter approaching, every delay could cost him precious gold-producing hours.
The Trommel Finally Runs, But Will It Be Enough?
After several delays, the trommel at Paradise Hill finally begins to operate. Tony’s team is able to move forward with full production, and the first weigh-in of the season takes place. After calculating the results from Sluice Lot and Find-A-Lot, the team is delighted to see the numbers adding up.
Together, they pull in 673 ounces of gold, worth $2.3 million.
“That’s a nice little haul,” Tony said. “Pretty soon we’ll have the trommel fully running, and who knows? Maybe we’ll be making history soon.”
The numbers are impressive, but Tony knows this is just the beginning. With more gold to be found, Tony’s confidence remains high, but he’s also realistic about the challenges ahead.
“We may not always get this price,” Tony acknowledged. “But the longer we hold onto it, the higher the price could get.”

Close to the Target: Tony Beets May Break His Record
With 4,611 ounces already in the vault, Tony is just 2,000 ounces shy of his season goal. This puts him on track to meet his target earlier than expected. If things continue at this pace, he might even surpass his own expectations.
“If we do this consistently, we’ll hit our goal sooner rather than later,” Tony commented. “I’ll keep pushing, and we’ll see what happens.”
Even as the season nears its conclusion, Tony’s focus remains steadfast. With winter closing in and the pressure mounting, the question is whether he can maintain his momentum and finish with one of his biggest seasons yet.
A Family Affair: Mike Beets Faces Leadership Challenges
While Tony pushes for gold, his son Mike Beets is taking on more responsibility than ever before. Leading operations at Paradise Hill, Mike is learning the ropes of mine management, with all the pressures of overseeing the team’s work and keeping everything running smoothly.
“I’m in charge, whether they like it or not,” Mike said, discussing his role in managing the crew.
Mike faces his own set of challenges, from dealing with staff shortages to managing slow progress in the current cut. Still, the Beets family remains determined. They’ve been through tough seasons before, and they know that success isn’t just about gold—it’s about perseverance, leadership, and decision-making.
The Future: More Gold and More Challenges Ahead
The Beets’ operation is running at full capacity, and with four plants now in operation, they are poised to make the most of the remaining weeks. While there are still hurdles to overcome, from mechanical issues to crew concerns, Tony and his team are looking to finish strong.
“There’s always more gold to be found,” Tony remarked, looking ahead to the rest of the season. “We just need to keep pushing and make sure we’re ready for whatever comes our way.”
As winter looms closer and the season winds down, the Beets family is racing against the clock to meet their goal. The question remains: will they manage to hit their target and secure the biggest haul of the year, or will the challenges of the season stop them just short of victory?
