Kelvin Fletcher reveals what he really thinks of fellow farmer Jeremy Clarkson after dig

Kelvin Fletcher Talks About Fellow Farmer Jeremy Clarkson and His Own Farming Journey

Strictly Come Dancing winner Kelvin Fletcher has opened up about his farming journey and what he really thinks of fellow farmer Jeremy Clarkson. After purchasing a 120-acre plot of land in Wincle, Cheshire, in 2021, Fletcher and his family have embraced rural life and documented their farming experiences in the ITV series Fletchers’ Family Farm. This new venture mirrors Clarkson’s journey into agriculture, which he captured on his popular Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm, set at his Diddly Squat Farm in the Cotswolds.

During a recent appearance on the Motorhome Matt podcast, Kelvin responded humorously when host Matt mischievously referred to him as the “good-looking Clarkson in the farming world.” Kelvin, known for his witty charm, replied modestly, “I think Clarkson is pretty good looking anyway, so, you know, I’m the shorter version of him really, with a lot less ground and probably, maybe, a little bit less abrasive.”

Matt then cheekily added, “And better teeth,” to which Kelvin laughed and agreed, “Oh, I don’t know… yeah, yeah, yeah.”

Kelvin’s comments come after viewers frequently compared his farming show to Clarkson’s. In an earlier appearance on This Morning, Fletcher was asked about the similarities, and he praised Clarkson’s farming series for its authenticity and humor. “Clarkson’s [Farm] is fantastic,” he said. “It’s informative TV, it’s a sense of escapism.” However, he pointed out that while Clarkson’s farm is a large commercial venture with plenty of humor, his own series focuses on a smaller family farm where the emphasis is on living and enjoying the rural lifestyle.

Fletcher and his wife Liz’s decision to move their family to a farm with no previous farming experience is a bold one. In the series, fans get a raw and honest look at the challenges and rewards of rural living. “We haven’t come from farming backgrounds. We have literally taken a leap of faith and done the unthinkable and decided to uproot and move out to the middle of nowhere and start living off the land,” Kelvin confessed. “As crazy as it sounds, that is exactly what we have done.”

Kelvin’s new life as a farmer is a sharp contrast to his acting career, but it has brought the family closer together, and they are eager to share their journey with their fans. The show highlights not only their agricultural adventures but also the dynamics of family life on a farm.

As the farming world continues to capture the public’s imagination, both Clarkson and Fletcher have provided an authentic, entertaining glimpse into the challenges of farming in the modern world. Their unique takes on rural life—Clarkson’s commercial ambition mixed with humor and Fletcher’s focus on family and sustainability—make both shows stand out in their own right.
