Clarkson’s Farm Stars Share Heartfelt Stories in New Oxfordshire Podcast
Stars of Clarkson’s Farm Open Up in New Oxfordshire-Based Interview
Alan Townsend and Gerald Cooper join TWC podcast to talk Witney’s past, present, and community spirit.
Clarkson’s Farm Faces Return to the Spotlight
Two familiar faces from Clarkson’s Farm are set to appear in a brand-new podcast episode recorded in the heart of Oxfordshire.
Alan Townsend — affectionately known to fans as Alan the Builder — and Gerald Cooper, the ever-watchful head of security at Diddly Squat Farm, joined hosts from TWC Home Improvements to reflect on life, work, and the enduring spirit of Witney.
The conversation was recorded inside TWC’s brand-new showroom at 61 High Street, Witney, which officially opened just over a month ago.
A Local Celebration of Witney
The new episode, part of TWC’s second podcast series, is due for release during the week beginning Monday, November 10, and focuses on Witney’s past, present, and future.
Councillor Jane Doughty, deputy mayor of Witney, also joined the discussion. She had earlier helped open the new store alongside Mr Townsend.
While the podcast series usually explores themes around home improvement — from windows to living spaces — this special episode shifts its focus to celebrate Witney’s rich history and close-knit community.
Stories From the Farm and the Football Pitch
According to a TWC spokesperson, Gerald Cooper reminisced about his younger days playing football in the town. He spoke fondly of his many trophies and joked that he was “good but dirty” on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Alan Townsend reflected on his building projects in and around the area — including his role in Clarkson’s Farm, where he became a fan favourite for his no-nonsense attitude and dry humour.
Councillor Doughty shared her own nostalgic memories, recalling nights spent dancing at the old cinema-turned-nightclub and celebrating the vibrant local culture that continues to thrive today.

A Tribute to Witney’s Heritage
The guests also paid tribute to Elvira Delnevo’s legendary haberdashery shop, a beloved part of Witney’s high street heritage.
As the TWC spokesperson explained:
“The town’s industrial past was fondly remembered, from blanket factories to Bowyer’s pies — where nearly everyone once worked.”
The episode also looks ahead to the future, previewing upcoming community events including the Witney Christmas Lights switch-on and the festive market at Marriott’s Walk Shopping Centre.
