Matt Baker’s Sweet Three-Word Response as Jeremy Clarkson Welcomes Adorable New Arrival to Farm
A Joyful Update from Diddly Squat Farm
Jeremy Clarkson has delighted fans with some much-needed happy news from his Oxfordshire farm. The Clarkson’s Farm star, 65, shared a heartwarming picture of himself cuddling a tiny golden Labrador puppy, introducing her to his 9.5 million Instagram followers with the caption: “Meet Margarey.”
The new arrival comes after Clarkson faced a series of setbacks, including a TB outbreak at Diddly Squat Farm. But the post showed the presenter in good spirits as he proudly cradled the latest addition to his canine family.

Fans Flood the Comments with Love
The adorable photo quickly drew hundreds of comments from fans, many unable to resist gushing over the puppy. One wrote: “Nothing more beautiful than a puppy.” Another added: “So much cuteness,” while others described Margarey as “so sweet” and “a little darling.”

Matt Baker’s Heartfelt Reaction
Among the well-wishers was fellow presenter Matt Baker, best known for Our Farm in the Dales. Responding with a simple but touching three-word comment, he wrote: “What a beauty.”
Baker, who shares Clarkson’s love of dogs, owns several himself, including a miniature long-haired dachshund named Ivy, a Border Collie called Bob, and a Cairn Terrier called Fergus. He also knows the heartbreak of losing a beloved pet, after his Labrador Annie passed away earlier this year. At the time, Baker told fans: “The only time our dogs break our hearts is when they leave us.”
A Game of Thrones Theme
Some fans also noticed Clarkson’s choice of name for the puppy, pointing out that it continues his tradition of naming his dogs after Game of Thrones characters. His other Labrador companions include Sansa and Arya, while one fan quipped: “Will there be a Joffrey too?”
Others praised the unusual name, with one writing: “Great name,” and another commenting: “He does love his Game of Thrones names.”
One follower even joked about the inspiration: “The Tyrell family always had good looks haha,” in reference to Margarey Tyrell from George R. R. Martin’s fantasy saga.
A Bittersweet Moment After Loss
The happy update comes just a month after Clarkson and his partner Lisa Hogan shared the sad news that one of their puppies, Mr Grey, had died. Hogan confirmed the loss in a moving video, saying: “Sad news this morning. Mr Grey has gone to fur and feather land. Poor Mr Grey, I’m sorry darling.”
The emotional moment resonated deeply with fans, many of whom offered their condolences. Margarey’s arrival has now brought some joy back to Diddly Squat Farm after the family’s loss.
Dogs at the Heart of Farm Life
For Clarkson, his dogs have become a central part of his farm life, offering companionship and comic relief amid the daily challenges of farming. With Margarey joining Arya and Sansa, it looks like the Clarkson’s Farm star’s four-legged family is set to keep fans entertained for seasons to come.
