Moment Jeremy Clarkson eats insect burger ahead of Great British Farm-Fest near Coventry
Jeremy Clarkson took a bite of the future as he sampled a cricket burger that could transform British farming. It was part of a special preview ahead of the Great British Farm-Fest at NAEC Stoneleigh.
Clarkson was joined by key figures behind the Great British Farm-Fest, including Kaleb Cooper, Lisa Hogan, Harriet Cowan, Gareth Wyn Jones, Adam Henson, and Olly Harrison. Experts at the UK Edible Insect Association (UKEIA) showcased how insects could play a role in future food production and sustainable farming.
Cricket burgers highlighted the growing movement towards alternative proteins. Across the three-day Great British Farm-Fest, the UKEIA will bring its vision for the future of farming to life in the Farm Lab.
Excitement is mounting for the event, which takes place from May 22 to May 24, showcasing innovation and the future of farming in Britain. Families, food producers and industry experts will come together for a hands-on countryside experience just 15 minutes from Coventry.
Visitors can explore attractions including livestock shows, food and drink stalls, and educational activities for all ages. Stars including Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Alex James, Chris Moyles, and Groove Armada will be performing across the three days.
Will I be able to try a cricket burger?
We asked organisers if the insect burgers will be available to try for visitors on the day. They confirmed UKEIA are among the exhibitors and they will be bringing some insect snacks to try – so if you fancy trying something a bit different, that’s the place to be.
