Fans support emotional Jeremy Clarkson as he fights back tears

Fans have supported an emotional Jeremy Clarkson as he fought back tears in a raw clip.

The former Top Gear and Grand Tour host resides in Oxfordshire, where he owns Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington and The Farmer’s Dog pub in Asthall.

Both the Cotswolds watering hole and Mr Clarkson’s farm shop sell his alcohol brand, Hawkstone, which stocks a variety of lagers, ciders and stouts.

The 65-year-old put together a choir of farmers last year to star in adverts for the brand, and the group appeared on Britain’s Got Talent over the weekend.

During the show, which aired on Saturday evening (March 21), the Hawkstone Farmers Choir secured a historic Golden Buzzer during their audition.

The rare honour, which sends the 32-strong collective straight through to the live semi-finals, was given following a performance of the Elbow anthem “One Day Like This” at the Birmingham Hippodrome.

Mr Clarkson was left visibly emotional by the performance as he took to the social media site Instagram to share a raw clip with his instant reaction.

“I watched Britain’s Got Talent tonight for the first time because the Hawkstone Choir were on and they were just fantastic,” he said, appearing to be close to tears.

“These guys are all farmers, and they work incredibly hard for really incredibly small rewards, and to see them all on that stage with all that love in the room made my heart sing. I actually welled up.
“It shows that people quite like farmers. They were very, very good, well done, all of you. I’m a very happy man tonight.”

Another commenter said: “They were incredible. Made me tearful, especially with everything that has been going on with our amazing British Farmers.
