From Motoring Icon to Full-Time Farmer

The 65-year-old broadcaster began his farming journey in 2019, more than a decade after purchasing a 1,000-acre farm near Chadlington in Oxfordshire. What began as a personal project has since evolved into one of Prime Video’s most successful factual series, attracting a global audience across four seasons.

Season Five Confirmed, With More on the Horizon

A fifth series of Clarkson’s Farm is already completed and scheduled for release later this year. The new season will feature eight episodes, once again filmed in the Cotswolds.

Recent reports suggested uncertainty beyond series five, but Clarkson has moved to ease those concerns.

Clarkson Confirms Plans for Series Six

Speaking to The Sun, Clarkson confirmed that a sixth series is firmly in the works.

“We’ll definitely do six – Amazon want to and I want to,” he said. “I’ve got a good idea for six.”

He added that his decision to continue depends entirely on whether fresh ideas remain.

“I said I’ll stop doing them when there are no more ideas. But I’ve got two quite good ones, so we’ll do six, and then we’ll see.”

Could a Seventh Series Also Happen?

The same report suggested that a seventh series has not been ruled out. While nothing has been formally confirmed, Clarkson’s comments indicate that the door remains open if the concept continues to evolve.

Why Filming Took a Brief Pause

Clarkson also explained why the production schedule briefly slowed after series five wrapped. Unlike most television projects, the show operates around the realities of farming.

“We’ve never had a rest. You wrap a series and immediately start again because farming doesn’t stop,” he said.

However, several factors aligned at once: Kaleb Cooper was away filming in Australia, Clarkson himself was working on Millionaire Hot Seat, and he felt it was time to take a short break.

“I really wanted to have a holiday because I haven’t had one in ages,” he explained.

Filming Resumes When Farming Demands It

Clarkson noted that the pause was never intended to be permanent.

“We just said, ‘Let’s actually wrap it,’ and then I said: ‘If it snows, we’ll start filming again.’”

The Show’s Future Looks Stable

Despite recent speculation, Clarkson’s comments suggest that Clarkson’s Farm remains in a healthy position. With series six confirmed and further ideas already forming, the show appears set to continue—at least for now—following the unpredictable rhythms of both farming and television.
