“Sig Sacrifices Gear to Save the Ship! Jake Hits His Breaking Point & Sean Cranks Up the Pressure on the Greenhorns!”
The Crew and the Captains

On a crab boat in the Bering Sea, the crew plays a crucial role in a captain’s success. It’s not about working hard every day, but about making sure things run smoothly. The crew needs to put in extra effort because they pay a higher price for it. What most captains appreciate is a crew member with a silver tongue. Someone who can talk the talk and keep things light. However, a man who wastes his words on crabbing might not always be as appreciated.
The Northwest and Mandy

The episode begins aboard the Northwest after the captain, White, drops Mandy off. They return to their previous cage position, and White is on the phone with Mandy. The crew is working to remove dozens of centimeters of ice. It seems like the end is coming for them.
After finishing his conversation with Mandy, White gets off the phone. Mandy had warned him and Clark to be careful, then hung up. This is when we move to the Legend.
Anderson’s Risky Decision
After unloading, Anderson decides to risk crossing the sea again. He wants to save time, even though the weather is unpredictable. The ship is lighter after unloading, so Anderson feels that it might not be too bad.
The crew rests after a busy night, leaving only Anderson and the spotter in the cabin. Suddenly, a six-meter wave hits, and Anderson becomes furious. He says he shouldn’t have trusted the weather forecast. Anderson checks with the observer, who confirms that the guide float wasn’t visible.
The wave causes a problem, and Anderson has to turn on the alarm to wake up the crew. Half an hour later, they make it out of the shallow water, and Anderson feels relieved. However, he needs to check the bottom of the boat for leaks after such a rough ride. Anderson decides to head to Dutch Harbor for a diver to inspect the boat.
Shawn’s Struggles
Shawn’s crew in Dutch Harbor is having trouble catching crabs. He’s missed three days and hasn’t caught a single fish. In an attempt to catch up, Shawn decides to add technology to the bait and double the food. But the crew informs him that there’s no food left, so Shawn goes to sleep.
The crew is struggling with the remaining crab pots. The novice crew member made a mistake, and Shawn feels the need to punish him. Shawn orders the deck captain to “put him up to his old tricks.” This leads to a funny but painful moment where the crew member has to lick a cod as a punishment for his carelessness.
White’s Troubles with Ice and Crab Pots
Old White, aboard the Northwest, is dealing with fog and the challenges of ice. The crew is working in freezing temperatures, removing ice and trying to salvage crab pots. After some hard work, the crew manages to get good catches. They hit the 200-animal mark, and everyone is excited.
However, White is soon confronted with a massive ice flow, covering the crab pots. White is forced to ask the crew to temporarily withdraw. They wait for the ice to clear.
Anderson’s Boat Problems
Anderson’s boat has problems after the divers finish their inspection. They find that only the paint is coming off the bottom of the boat, so Anderson breathes a sigh of relief. However, things get worse when Mason discovers that the oil filter in the gearbox is full of dirty water and rust. If not addressed, the gearbox could become useless.
Anderson orders the crew to stop everything and fix the gearbox. Time is running out, and Anderson’s frustration grows. After repairs, the crew finally gets the engine working again, but the situation continues to look grim.
White Faces More Problems
Back aboard the Northwest, Old White’s crew faces even more problems as they try to salvage the crab pots. The weather is getting colder, with temperatures plummeting to 30 below zero. The crew is tired from de-icing the boat, and things aren’t looking good for their crab harvest. But Old White presses on, trying to find more crabs.
Shawn’s Success with a Monster Cage
Meanwhile, Shawn’s crew is struggling but making some progress. They’re salvaging their crab pots, with some successful catches, but they’re facing challenges. Shawn worries that his crew isn’t fast enough, and some pots are lost.
As the pressure mounts, the crew continues to salvage the monster cage. The weight of the monster cage worries Anderson, but with teamwork and perseverance, they manage to haul it up and sort the haul, which includes plenty of cod.
The Winona’s Battle Against Time
The Winona is also facing struggles. The crew works tirelessly to meet their quota, with some minor setbacks, like a lost crab pot. However, the crew manages to make up for lost time, and Anderson’s mood improves. They finally begin to see success.
Old White’s Search for Crabs
Old White’s crew continues their search for crabs, but it’s a tough battle. The harvest is slim, and morale is low. They finally find a small catch, but it’s not enough to turn things around. White pushes forward, determined to make up for the lost time.
This episode ends on a note of perseverance, with the captains and crews facing numerous obstacles but pushing through with resilience. Each of them struggles with their own challenges, but they continue to move forward.
