He turned to music, touring internationally with the .357 String Band until 2011. But a chance meeting with Parker Schnabel at a state fair in 2006 introduced him to gold mining—and changed his life.
After gaining experience on Parker’s team, Rick took a bold leap in Season 9 of Gold Rush, leading his own crew and mining over 1,100 ounces of gold. His decision to go solo was a risk—but it paid off.
