Parker’s Biggest Breakdown Yet: How the Crew Saved Wash Plant Bob Just in Time

Breakdowns, Pressure, and Big Gold: Parker Schnabel’s Crew Battles to Keep “Bob” Alive

Parker Schnabel’s push for a massive 1,000-ounce payout from his new Sulphur Creek operation hit a serious setback this week when his newly revived wash plant, Bob, suffered a major breakdown. What began as a promising first full week of production quickly collapsed when the plant’s pre-wash conveyor failed, halting the entire system and throwing the crew into crisis mode.

Gold Rush Season 15 Episode 10: Parker Schnabel's triple wash plant gamble runs into trouble

With equipment scattered across miles of rugged Yukon ground, Parker’s team found themselves living out of their trucks as they scrambled to reach the broken machinery. “It’s a real pain in the ass,” one crew member admitted, frustrated by the constant travel and intense expectations. Parker, already under pressure from a tight schedule and massive investment, made it clear that every minute counted.

The repair job fell to father-and-son mechanics Bill and Justin, who quickly discovered the replacement drive shaft was unusable—too long by a foot and a half, and with mismatched keyways that wouldn’t align with the conveyor’s bearings and sprockets. Without a precise fit, the conveyor would derail again within hours.

“I don’t know what my next step is,” Justin said, staring at the faulty part. “We cannot go back to the yard and tell Parker we don’t have the right stuff.”

Then came a stroke of mechanical ingenuity. By flipping the shaft, cutting it to length, and grinding the keyway to match the original, the team believed they could salvage the replacement. It was a risky, improvised fix—but the only option.

After hours of grinding, cutting, and aligning components under immense pressure, the crew mounted the bearings, fitted the sprockets, and braced for the test run. The conveyor roared back to life. “Moment of truth,” Bill declared as the machine spun up smoothly. Parker’s crew wasted no time, immediately running pay dirt through Bob to regain lost ground.

Parker And Crew IN TROUBLE As The Wash Plant Goes Down! | Gold Rush

With Bob operational, Parker reviewed the week’s gold totals across his three plants. Big Red, working the bridge cut, delivered its best cleanup of the season at 98.5 ounces, worth about $250,000. Roxann, digging the long cut, followed with 168.2 ounces, valued at over $420,000.

Finally, the big reveal: Bob’s first full week on Sulphur Creek produced 299 ounces, just a fraction shy of Parker’s 300-ounce target—worth nearly $340,000.

Altogether, the crew pulled in 565.7 ounces for the week, valued at roughly $1.4 million. Their season total now stands at 3,446.2 ounces, slightly over one-third of Parker’s ambitious goal, despite more than half the season having passed.
