Gold Rush: Parker Schnabel Pushes His Limits Running Three Wash Plants

As Gold Rush Season 15 heats up, Parker Schnabel takes one of his boldest risks yet — running three wash plants simultaneously across separate claims. But with massive potential comes massive pressure, and not everyone on the team is sure they can keep up.

A One-Man Gold-Cleaning Operation

In his quest to smash the 10,000-ounce gold target, Parker has expanded operations like never before — Big Red, Roxanne, and Bob are all running full throttle.

But while three plants mean triple the gold, they also mean triple the work for one man — Chris Doumitt, the veteran gold cleaner responsible for every final cleanup.

“Everybody’s excited about having three plants going,” Chris admits. “But I don’t think they’ve taken into consideration that I’m a one-man operation.”

The exhausting pace is starting to take its toll on the longtime miner.

“This is awful physical work. I’m not getting any younger. My back’s not getting any better,” he says. “I told Parker I’d stay until it’s not fun anymore — and we’re getting very close to that.”

The Breaking Point

After another sleepless night juggling cleanups, Chris finally calls Parker over for a difficult conversation.

“I can’t do three,” he confesses. “With two plants, I could manage. But now we’re spread out — and it’s just too much.”

Parker listens, torn between his need to keep gold flowing and his loyalty to the people keeping his operation alive.

“I’m willing to pull someone out of the field if I have to,” Parker says. “I just need someone Chris can trust.”

A New Face in the Gold Room

That someone turns out to be Tatiana, one of Parker’s top equipment operators. Though pulling her from the field means losing a valuable hand, the move could save the entire cleanup process.

“Tatiana’s a good call,” Parker says. “She gets it. I need someone who’ll do things the right way without me worrying.”

With Tatiana stepping in, Chris can finally breathe again.

“Now I can keep up,” he says with relief. “It’s not just the big jobs — it’s the hundreds of little things that make or break the gold room.”

Parker’s Gamble Pays Off

By the end of the week, Parker and his crew gather to weigh their latest haul — and the results are the best of the season.

  • Big Red: 74.9 ounces
  • Roxanne: 207.4 ounces
  • Bob: 303.7 ounces

That’s a massive total of 586 ounces, worth nearly $1.5 million, and Parker’s biggest cleanup of the season so far.

“If Red gets in that groove,” Parker says, “we’ve got a real chance to catch up to where we should be.”

With 1,693 ounces mined to date, Parker’s ambitious three-plant strategy may just bring him closer to his record-breaking goal — but the strain on his crew shows that even in the gold fields, success always comes at a price.
