Why Kelly Thiebaud Came Back as Britt — And What It Means for GH Fans

General Hospital spoilers share Kelly Thiebaud, who became hugely popular playing Britt Westbourne, dished to TV Line about her return and why she decided to return to the soap.
The actress first joined GH in 2012 and took her first break in 2015. She returned in 2017, left in 2018, and came back in 2020.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Thiebaud’s First Airdate Back Is Friday, July 18th
She remained on the show until 2023 when her character was poisoned by “the Hook” and tragically died in her mother’s arms. We still think she was robbed of winning a second Emmy.
Her first airdate this go around is July 18, this Friday. It’s still unknown whether she’ll resume the role of Britt. Fans have their fingers crossed, especially since Kathleen Gati, who plays Liesel Obrecht, also returns next week.
However, there is a lot of buzz regarding her playing a new character who is involved in Professor Henry Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) cloning research.
When Thiebaud left in 2020, she moved to London, England. “I did walk away from my last day on set thinking I would never return,” she admitted.

“And that’s why I think coming back now has so many feelings attached to it,” she told the website. “A lot of different things aligned perfectly with the opportunity to be back,”
she explained.
She said she’s thrilled to be able to bring fresh energy to her work on the soap. Thiebaud credits her time off from GH for helping her grow professionally and personally.
“For me, this last time around, I went through so much; that’s the golden ticket, in a way. The more life experience you can add to your tool belt just infuses your work and makes you a better actor,”
she shared.
“And I hope that is what happens this time around, that I am going to take everything that I’ve gone through and just be better and more honest and more authentic with my work,”
she said.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Actress Missed The Daytime Landscape
Thiebaud admitted to TV Line that she felt like she was out of practice when she returned to the world of soaps.
Soap actors have countless pages of dialogue to memorize, and daytime dramas move at a very fast pace; she had to reacclimate herself to that.
“I feel like I have to rebuild all that all over again and get comfortable performing the way that you do for daytime,”
she shared.
