Would You Like Me to Kick Him Out?’ – Clarkson Teases Political Bid

Jeremy Clarkson Becomes Favourite to Win MP Seat After Hinting at Doncaster North Bid

Bookmakers Slash Odds Following Political Tease

TV personality Jeremy Clarkson has become the bookmakers’ new favourite to win a seat in Parliament after hinting that he may challenge Ed Miliband in Doncaster North at the next general election.

Following a flood of bets, odds on the Clarkson’s Farm and Top Gear star entering politics have shortened dramatically — 2/1 to win a seat and 250/1 to one day become Prime Minister.

Ed Miliband Has Responded To Jeremy Clarkson's Threat To Stand Against Him

A spokesperson for bookmaker Coral, John Hill, confirmed the surge:

“After Clarkson hinted he’ll run for the Doncaster North seat, we’ve been inundated with bets. Punters clearly believe the Diddly Squat Farm man could end up in Parliament. It’s shaping up to be one of the most intriguing stories of the next election.”

A Single Tweet Sets Off Political Frenzy

The speculation began when Clarkson, 64, took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and posted:

“People of Doncaster North. Are you happy with your MP? Would you like it if someone from your neck of the woods kicked him out?”

The tongue-in-cheek message immediately went viral, sparking a wave of debate — and betting — over whether Clarkson might be serious about swapping his tractor for a seat in Westminster.

Miliband Unshaken by Clarkson’s Comments

The Doncaster North constituency is currently represented by Energy Secretary Ed Miliband, who has held the seat since 2005.

When asked about Clarkson’s remarks during an appearance on Sky News’ Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips, Miliband responded with good humour:

“I think he’s a long-standing aspirant to my seat,” he said. “He mentioned back in 2013 that he was going to contest it. So, if others want to stand, including him, they’re welcome. Let’s see what happens.”

Miliband secured the seat comfortably at the last election with a majority of more than 9,100 votes.

No Party Affiliation — Yet

While Clarkson has flirted with the idea of entering politics before, it’s still unknown which political party — if any — he might align himself with.

The outspoken broadcaster’s political opinions have often made headlines. Recently, he criticised Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, writing in The Sun that Farage’s “numbers don’t add up” when discussing the economy.

“Before anyone can question his logic,” Clarkson wrote, “he scuttles back to his safe space and starts raging about small boats.”

Could Doncaster Be Headed for a Political Upset?

Although Labour has long dominated Doncaster North, recent polling suggests that Reform UK may pose a growing challenge if a general election were held today.

Whether Clarkson’s comments were serious or simply playful banter, the reaction from fans — and bookies — has been anything but casual. His potential entry into politics has ignited national conversation and added a new twist to the election landscape.

For now, one thing’s clear — Jeremy Clarkson’s political tease has made Doncaster North the unlikely hotspot of Britain’s next big electoral drama.
