From Actor to Farmer

Kelvin, 40, and his wife Liz Fletcher swapped television sets for farm life in 2021, when they purchased a 120-acre plot of land in the village of Wincle, near Macclesfield.

Their transition to rural life was documented in the BBC series Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure in early 2022. Since then, the couple and their four children have continued sharing their journey on ITV’s Fletchers’ Family Farm, which has become a fan favorite for its authenticity and warmth.

Now in its third season, the show captures both the triumphs and the trials of their life on the land. In a recent episode, Kelvin reflected proudly, saying:

“This is my version of a happy life — we’ve found our purpose now.”

‘Still Don’t Know What I Do for a Living’

Despite his optimism, Kelvin’s recent Instagram post revealed a more reflective side. Sharing snapshots of family life on the farm, he wrote:

“Last few weeks have been the usual… No week is ever the same! Still don’t really know what I do for a living, or what I want to be when I’m older, but just enjoying the ride!”

Fans and celebrity friends quickly flooded the comments with encouragement.
Former Emmerdale co-star Laura Norton replied, “You’re all nothing short of amazing,” while Charley Webb simply wrote, “LOVE.” Rugby player Thomas Burgess added, “The best lad.”

Support also poured in from fans:

  • “Love this little family. So down to earth and living your best lives.” – @kathgale
  • “We love watching you guys grow your farm — looking for a farm of our own.” – @shelly.humpty
  • “Love watching you all. Please keep going.” – @jennychandler2402

Heartbreak and Hope on the Farm

The warm messages come after a particularly difficult season for the Fletchers.
The first episode of Season 3, which aired October 19, showed the family grappling with the aftermath of a devastating fire at their farmhouse — forcing them to relocate temporarily.

Then, in the November 2 episode, Kelvin and Liz faced another emotional setback when a vet revealed that one of their beloved cows had suffered a miscarriage.

Veterinarian’s assessment was heartbreaking:

“She actually seems to have a uterus infection, which is most likely because she’s been pregnant and had a miscarriage,” the vet explained.
Liz, visibly upset, responded softly, “Oh no.”

But amid the sadness came a glimmer of hope — another of their cows was confirmed to be pregnant, offering the family a moment of relief and gratitude.

Finding Strength in Uncertainty

Through both joy and heartbreak, Kelvin and Liz continue to win over viewers with their honesty and resilience. Their story isn’t just about farming — it’s about family, perseverance, and finding happiness in unexpected places.

As Kelvin put it, he may not always know “what he does for a living,” but his journey proves one thing: sometimes the most meaningful paths are the ones that can’t be neatly defined.
