Clarkson’s Farm Star Kaleb Cooper Issues Shock Warning: “Say Goodbye to Milk”

The young farmer delivers an emotional message as rising costs threaten the future of British dairy farming.

Kaleb Cooper Sounds Alarm Over Milk Prices

Clarkson’s Farm favourite Kaleb Cooper has sparked concern among fans after issuing a shock warning about the future of milk in the UK.

Clarkson's Farm Star Kaleb Cooper Is Getting His Own Solo Show

The 27-year-old, best known for managing Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, took to Instagram this week to raise awareness about the devastating impact of rising costs and falling milk prices on Britain’s dairy farmers.

Currently filming his own Amazon Prime TV series in Australia, Kaleb didn’t hold back as he shared an impassioned message with his followers.

“Milk prices for farmers dropping, hay silage and straw at record high prices = no more dairy farmers,” he wrote.
“Say goodbye to milk.”

‘Most People Don’t Know What Milk Costs’

Kaleb went on to call out the growing disconnect between consumers and the realities of farming, pointing out that many people have little idea how much farmers actually earn from their hard work.

“Another thing is that no matter where you go these days, everyone has a pint of milk in the fridge,” he said.
“Most people — if you ask them how much that pint of milk cost them — won’t know. It’s something we need all the time.”

In a light-hearted note, he added:

“If you’re lactose intolerant, I’m sure you won’t have milk in the fridge — but you’ll probably still keep some just in case a friend comes round for a cuppa.”

The Harsh Reality Behind the Price of Milk

Despite the rising cost of living, many dairy farmers are earning less than ever. While supermarkets typically sell milk at around £1.50 per litre, farmers often receive just 25p per litre — barely enough to cover production costs.

Kaleb’s warning echoes growing concerns in the agricultural community that low farm-gate prices, combined with record-high feed and energy costs, could drive many family-run dairies out of business altogether.

“If things don’t change soon, we really might have to say goodbye to British milk,” one industry insider told Farmers Weekly earlier this month.

A Complex Picture for UK Agriculture

While dairy farmers face ongoing challenges, public attitudes toward British agriculture appear to be improving.

According to new data from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), consumer positivity toward UK farming has risen by 72% in 2025, reaching its highest level in seven years.

Steven Evans, a representative from the board, said the shift reflects growing public trust in British farmers:

“Consumers not only feel more positive about UK agriculture, but they also trust farming as a profession and feel that farmers align with their key values,” Evans said.
“This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of British farmers and growers in providing food for our nation.”

Kaleb Cooper: From Farmhand to Farming Advocate

Since joining Clarkson’s Farm in 2021, Kaleb Cooper has become one of Britain’s most beloved young farmers — known for his no-nonsense honesty, quick wit, and deep respect for rural life.

Now, as he branches out into his own Amazon Prime series and business ventures, Kaleb continues to use his platform to champion the voices of working farmers across the UK.

His latest message may be simple, but it carries a powerful truth:
If current trends continue, the future of British milk could be in jeopardy.
