Jeremy Clarkson Warned as He Reunites with Piers Morgan After Infamous Fight

A Feud That Began Two Decades Ago

Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan have unexpectedly reunited more than 20 years after their explosive altercation at the 2004 British Press Awards. The two high-profile broadcasters, who once exchanged blows in front of stunned journalists, appeared together again this week—this time smiling for a photo rather than throwing punches.

Their long-running feud began when Clarkson confronted Morgan, then editor of the Daily Mirror, over the publication of photos of the Top Gear presenter with a woman who was not his wife. Despite Clarkson’s pleas not to run the images, Morgan published the story, triggering years of tension that came to a head at the awards ceremony.

The Punch Heard Around Fleet Street

During their heated confrontation in 2004, Clarkson reportedly struck Morgan in the head. The punch left Clarkson with a broken finger and Morgan with a scar on his temple—physical reminders both men still carry.

Yet surprisingly, the pair seemed to have put their bitter history behind them when they crossed paths at a formal event on Wednesday, December 10.

A Playful Reunion Shared Online

Morgan posted a photo of the reunion to X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“Great to catch up with my fans at Christmas.”

Clarkson’s Farm’s official X account then chimed in with a cheeky throwback quote from Clarkson’s Top Gear days:
“I broke my finger punching Piers Morgan in the face. You’re welcome.”

Morgan replied with laughing emojis, adding:
“It was a very festive catch-up… Jeremy proudly showed me his disfigured finger, and I proudly showed him the scar on my temple.”

Fans React With Shock and Amusement

The image sent social media into a frenzy, with fans offering humorous warnings and sarcastic remarks. One user joked:
“Watch out, Jeremy has a free hand…”
Another commented that Clarkson looked like “a hostage,” while others laughed at Clarkson’s highly “honest” facial expression.

Morgan Revisits the Incident in His New Book

Piers Morgan discusses the infamous brawl in his new book Woke Is Dead, recalling how the confrontation escalated and why he harbors no resentment today.

“He ended up punching me… and it wasn’t entirely unjustified,” Morgan wrote. “Although I think he had a very weak punch, and he did break his finger hitting my head.”

A Peace Treaty Years in the Making

Morgan also revealed that Clarkson later contacted him out of the blue, suggesting they settle their differences over drinks. The pair eventually met at a local pub, accompanied by Clarkson’s daughter and one of Morgan’s sons, who acted as “peace treaty ratifiers.”

Two decades after their brawl, it seems Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan have finally found common ground—at least long enough for a Christmas photo.
