Jeremy Clarkson Hints at Moving Abroad? | Clarkson’s Farm Update

Jeremy Clarkson Reveals He’s Considered Moving Abroad – But Says Britain May Still Be the Best Bet

Jeremy Clarkson has never been one to hold back his opinions, and his latest revelations have given fans plenty to talk about. The Clarkson’s Farm star has admitted he has been seriously weighing up the idea of moving abroad, while also making a typically cheeky confession about his frustrations with Britain’s tax system.

From Top Gear to the Farmyard

Once best known as the petrol-fuelled host of Top Gear and The Grand Tour, Clarkson has reinvented himself in recent years as a farmer. His Oxfordshire-based Diddly Squat Farm has become the setting for Clarkson’s Farm, the hit Amazon Prime series now four seasons in, with a fifth currently filming.

The show has been praised for its unfiltered portrayal of the struggles of modern farming, from unpredictable harvests to bureaucracy, but Clarkson has faced particularly tough challenges behind the scenes. Most recently, his cattle were struck by bovine tuberculosis, a devastating blow to his farming operation.

“Looking Abroad”

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Clarkson’s difficulties—and his growing disillusionment with Britain’s political climate—have led him to consider whether it might be time for a fresh start elsewhere.

Writing in his newspaper column, Clarkson admitted he has been exploring the idea of emigrating, looking at options as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.

But while the thought was tempting, the reality proved less so. Clarkson quickly ran into the dense wall of paperwork, red tape, and residency requirements that come with relocating overseas. In typical fashion, he dismissed the whole process as “tiresome.”

“Everywhere Else Is Either Boring or Terrifying”

Clarkson didn’t stop there. Even if the practical barriers to moving abroad were not so daunting, he questioned whether the grass is really greener elsewhere.

“Everywhere else is either boring or terrifying,” he said, weighing up the pros and cons of foreign destinations.

In the end, he admitted that Britain—despite what he described as its “unhappy state”—might still be the place to be. For Clarkson, the pull of friends, family, and familiarity seems to outweigh the lure of sunny shores or exotic new adventures.

The Tax Quip That Made Fans Laugh

Alongside his reflections on life abroad, Clarkson also made headlines with a candid and humorous comment about taxes.

When a fan suggested he must surely know a clever way of avoiding them, Clarkson fired back bluntly: “I wish I did.”

He then added that the only real tax break he expected to receive would be upon his death—not exactly the savings anyone would want, but a typically dry Clarkson punchline nonetheless.

A Jab at Politicians

Never one to miss a chance for satire, Clarkson also took aim at Labour’s Deputy Prime Minister, Angela Rayner, after she admitted she did not fully understand tax rules.

“Crikey,” Clarkson posted. “The deputy prime minister of the UK has admitted she doesn’t understand how tax works. I wonder what else she doesn’t understand.”

Fans wasted no time firing back with jokes of their own. Some reminded Clarkson of his on-screen struggles calculating the cost of nettle soup in a recent Clarkson’s Farm episode, suggesting he was hardly one to talk when it came to maths.

Fans React: Would He Really Leave?

Clarkson’s remarks about moving abroad immediately sparked a flurry of debate among his fanbase.

Some argued that he would never seriously abandon Britain, pointing to his deep ties to his farm and community in Oxfordshire. Others speculated that his curiosity about emigrating was just another example of Clarkson’s tendency to play with provocative “what if” scenarios rather than firm plans.

Season 5 Already Underway

Whatever the outcome, Clarkson’s latest musings are likely to fuel interest in the forthcoming fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm.

Filming is already underway in Oxfordshire, and given the show’s history of incorporating Clarkson’s personal frustrations and triumphs, viewers may yet see his thoughts on moving abroad—or even his tax rants—woven into the new episodes.

Clarkson’s World: Entertaining as Ever

At 63, Jeremy Clarkson shows no signs of slowing down. Whether it’s navigating the perils of farming, sparring with politicians, or contemplating life abroad, he continues to keep audiences entertained with his mixture of blunt honesty and quick-witted humour.

For now, it seems Britain will remain his home. But as Clarkson himself might admit, with life’s ups and downs—and a camera crew never far away—the story is far from over.
