Jeremy Clarkson Reveals Unexpected Shift in His Fanbase

A New Audience Emerges

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed a surprising change in his fanbase, saying that he has gained a significant following among women following the success of Clarkson’s Farm. The 65-year-old broadcaster, long associated with motoring television, admitted that the farming series has introduced him to an audience he never previously connected with.

Clarkson, who became a household name during his years on Top Gear, said the shift has been noticeable and unexpected. Since Clarkson’s Farm first aired in 2021, he believes the programme’s more personal and unfiltered portrayal of life has changed how viewers see him.

“I’ve Never Had Women Fans Before”

Speaking about his recent experiences, Clarkson described being “mobbed” by fans during a visit to Chelsea Harbour — an encounter he said would have been unthinkable earlier in his career. He was quick to point out what stood out most about the attention.

“I’ve never particularly had women fans before,” Clarkson said. “Now I have.”

He suggested the change is directly linked to Clarkson’s Farm, which shows him navigating farming life at Diddly Squat Farm. Unlike his earlier on-screen persona, the series presents Clarkson dealing with failure, uncertainty, and physical labour — qualities that appear to have resonated with a broader audience.

Why Clarkson Keeps Working

Clarkson also addressed why he continues to work at a relentless pace despite his age and ongoing health concerns. In a candid admission, he said the idea of stopping fills him with anxiety.

“You would rot if you didn’t,” he explained, referring to retirement. Clarkson revealed that he is “genuinely frightened” about taking a break from filming, noting that it will be the first time in four decades that he will not be working on a television project until March.

“That will be three months of s***,” he added bluntly.

The presenter has frequently spoken about the physical and mental toll of constant production, particularly while filming Clarkson’s Farm, which involves long days and demanding physical work.

Health Changes and Weight Loss

Alongside his comments on work, Clarkson has been open about recent improvements to his health. He confirmed that he has lost three stone since January, a change he says has had a noticeable impact on his energy levels.

According to Clarkson, the weight loss has allowed him to walk further, feel less fatigued, and generally feel more capable during demanding filming schedules. He also noted that being lighter has helped curb his snacking habits, making him more conscious about when and why he eats.

The changes come after previous health scares and reflect a more cautious approach to his lifestyle, even as he maintains a heavy workload.

New Project: Millionaire Hot Seat

Looking ahead, Clarkson is preparing for the launch of a new television project, Millionaire Hot Seat, which is set to air on 6 January 2026. The programme is based on the Australian format and will feature six contestants rotating through a single “hot seat”.

Contestants will climb a prize ladder by answering questions correctly, but only the final prize is available to be won — meaning one wrong answer at the top could cost everything. Clarkson has described the format as intense and demanding, both for participants and the host.

Clarkson’s Farm and the Need for a Break

Despite his continued momentum, Clarkson acknowledged that Clarkson’s Farm has become increasingly exhausting. As the show approaches its fifth season, he revealed that he has promised the production crew a short break to recover from the strain of filming.

The series, while hugely popular, requires extensive physical effort and emotional resilience — a reality Clarkson says has become more apparent with each season.

Still Adapting After Decades on Screen

Clarkson’s reflections highlight a broader theme in his later career: adaptation. From gaining a new audience to reshaping his health and embracing fresh television formats, he continues to evolve despite decades in the public eye.

Whether it is unexpected popularity, physical change, or new professional challenges, Clarkson appears determined to keep moving forward. As he enters this new chapter, one thing remains clear — even after forty years on television, he is still capable of surprising both himself and his audience.
