It’s Getting Hard”: Clarkson Shares Struggle Behind Major Farm Choice

Jeremy Clarkson Admits He’s “Broken” Amid a New Farm Decision

Jeremy Clarkson has opened up about the physical toll of farming life after facing a difficult decision at his Oxfordshire property, Diddly Squat Farm. The 65-year-old presenter, known for his humor and resilience, revealed that age — and a certain well-used machine — are beginning to catch up with him.

A Farm Built on Grit and Machinery

Clarkson has owned Diddly Squat Farm since 2008, located in Chadlington near Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds. Thanks to the global success of Clarkson’s Farm on Prime Video, the once-quiet spot has now become one of the most famous farms in Britain.

Across four seasons (with a fifth on the way), viewers have watched Clarkson wrestle with weather disasters, regulations, animals, and—most hilariously—his own stubbornness. But beneath the comedy lies the reality of demanding physical work.

Struggling With the Supacat

In his recent Sunday Times column, Clarkson admitted he is having trouble entering and exiting his Supacat — a six-wheel-drive military machine he uses to collect timber in the woodland.

The vehicle, originally designed to “recover broken Land Rovers on the battlefield,” is known for its ruggedness. But Clarkson revealed:

“It is quite difficult to get in and out of, if you are old and broken.”

The comment is a rare glimpse into the toll farming has taken on him, especially after years of hard physical labor documented in the series.

Saying Goodbye to a Trusted Workhorse

Despite his fondness for the £9,000 Supacat, Clarkson has decided it’s time for a change. Several alternatives were considered, but he ultimately settled on a more modern and comfortable replacement: the petrol-powered CFMoto UForce U10 Pro.

He praised the upgrade, saying:

“It has been on the farm for a couple of months now and I must say it’s very practical, very robust and extremely useful.”

A Seal of Approval From Clarkson’s Dogs

Clarkson isn’t the only one enjoying the new machine. His dogs immediately claimed it as their own:

“On day one, my dogs leapt into the pick-up bed and since then have pretty much refused to get out.”

It seems the UForce U10 Pro has already become a permanent part of life at Diddly Squat Farm.

A Farmer Who Keeps Going

Clarkson’s confession of feeling “broken” is both relatable and revealing. Farming is physically demanding, especially for someone who spent decades in the world of motoring journalism. Yet, despite the aches, Clarkson continues to push forward, adapting when needed — even if that means letting go of a beloved machine.

As Clarkson’s Farm season 5 approaches, fans can expect more challenges, more humor, and more brutally honest admissions from the man who unintentionally became Britain’s most unlikely farmer.
