It’s a Disgrace!” — Jeremy Clarkson Launches Fiery Attack on UK Bird Charity
Jeremy Clarkson Slams UK Royal Charity Group as “Disgraceful”
The Clarkson’s Farm star accuses the RSPB of political bias amid growing tensions with the Labour government
Jeremy Clarkson has taken aim at one of the UK’s most prominent conservation charities, calling it “a disgrace” and accusing it of aligning itself with the Labour Party.
The outspoken broadcaster and Clarkson’s Farm star made the remarks on X (formerly Twitter), describing the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) as “nothing more than the airborne wing of the Labour Party.”
“The RSPB is nothing more than the airborne wing of the Labour Party. It’s a disgrace,” Clarkson wrote on November 5, 2025.
A Growing Rift With Labour
The comments come amid escalating friction between Clarkson and the newly elected Labour government. Since Labour’s victory in the summer of 2024, Clarkson has become one of the party’s most outspoken critics, particularly over its inheritance tax reforms that have alarmed many in the farming community.
Earlier this year, the 65-year-old joined a protest march opposing the tax changes and even hinted at a possible run for Parliament against Energy Secretary Ed Miliband in Doncaster North.
Now, his latest remarks suggest that his frustrations extend beyond politics and into the world of environmental advocacy.
The Swift Brick Controversy
Clarkson’s post was a direct response to Oxfordshire literary agent Hannah Bourne-Taylor, who criticised members of the House of Lords for blocking an amendment aimed at helping one of Britain’s most threatened bird species — the swift.
The amendment, proposed by Lord Zac Goldsmith, would have required “swift bricks” — special hollow bricks that provide nesting spaces — to be included in all new housing developments under the Planning and Infrastructure Bill.
However, the measure was blocked by 102 Labour peers, including Baroness Young of Old Scone, who previously served as RSPB chief executive from 1991 to 1998.
This prompted Clarkson’s sharp rebuke, suggesting that the charity’s leadership and political allegiances were out of step with its conservation mission.

Declining Swift Populations
According to the British Trust for Ornithology, swift populations have fallen by more than 66% since 1995. Conservationists blame modern housing designs — especially improved insulation — for eliminating traditional nesting spaces in roofs.
Bourne-Taylor, a long-time campaigner for UK wildlife, famously marched through London unclothed and covered in blue, black, and white body paint in 2022 to raise awareness for declining bird species. Her activism, and the blocked amendment, have reignited debate about how serious policymakers are about biodiversity protection.
Clarkson’s Environmental Divide
While Clarkson’s Farm has earned praise for highlighting the struggles of modern farmers, the presenter’s relationship with environmental organisations remains complicated.
Fans see him as a champion for rural workers and landowners, but critics accuse him of using his platform to politicise issues like conservation and land management.
Still, his comments ensure that — once again — Jeremy Clarkson is at the centre of a national conversation, balancing his roles as TV personality, farmer, and unfiltered social commentator.
