Clarkson’s Farm star Jeremy Clarkson has revealed a little-known rule that visitors to his famous Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Oxfordshire might not be aware of.

The 65-year-old TV presenter, who has owned Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington since 2008, runs the popular tourist spot with his partner Lisa Hogan. The shop first opened its doors in 2020 and has since become a must-visit destination for fans of the hit Prime Video series.

The Rule Fans Didn’t Know About

Clarkson took to social media this week to clarify a farm shop rule after a fan shared a photo of herself waiting in line with her dog.

The fan posted on X (formerly Twitter):

“Tired little doggy waiting in the queue for the farm shop.”

Clarkson replied warmly, saying simply:

“Aww.”

However, another user quickly chimed in, pointing out:

“Dogs aren’t allowed in Diddly Squat Farm Shop.”

That’s when Clarkson stepped in again to explain the reason, replying:

“Government rules.”

Why Dogs Aren’t Allowed

While many fans assumed the no-dogs policy was a personal choice, Clarkson’s comment confirms that the restriction is due to government food hygiene regulations, which prohibit pets inside establishments that sell open food products.

Visitors are still welcome to bring their furry friends along for a stroll around the surrounding grounds, but dogs are not permitted inside the actual farm shop.

The Expansion of Diddly Squat

Clarkson’s farm empire continues to grow. In 2024, the brand expanded with a pop-up version of the Diddly Squat Farm Shop opening on the grounds of Clarkson and Hogan’s new pub, The Farmer’s Dog, which opened in August in Asthall, Oxfordshire.

The expansion has been met with enthusiasm from fans who have followed Clarkson’s often chaotic — but always entertaining — journey into the world of farming.

What’s Next for Clarkson’s Farm

Filming for Clarkson’s Farm season five officially wrapped last month, with the series now in post-production.

Although Amazon has yet to confirm an official release date, it’s expected to follow previous schedules — meaning fans can likely expect season five to premiere in spring 2026.

Until then, fans can keep up with Clarkson’s updates from Diddly Squat Farm, where even the simplest things — like a rule about dogs — can spark nationwide curiosity.
