Clarkson’s Farm fate ‘revealed’ as bosses decide on future of series
Clarkson’s Farm Set to Continue as Amazon Backs New Series
The future of Clarkson’s Farm appears secure, with reports suggesting Amazon Prime Video has approved a sixth season of the popular farming series.
New episodes from the upcoming fifth series are expected to arrive this spring, but until now, plans beyond that point had remained unclear. The latest reports indicate that Jeremy Clarkson’s on-screen farming journey is far from over.
Filming Underway After Short Hiatus
According to reports, Jeremy Clarkson, 65, has already begun filming the next series after taking what he described as his first extended break from television in four decades.
The pause, which began in December, was initially intended to last several months. However, it is believed Clarkson returned to production earlier than planned to resume work on the show.
From Investment to Full-Time Farming Story
Clarkson purchased Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire in 2008 as a long-term investment but took over day-to-day operations in 2019. Since 2021, the Prime Video series has followed the realities of running the 1,000-acre farm, highlighting the operational, financial, and environmental challenges faced by modern farmers.
The programme has since become one of Amazon Prime Video’s most-watched unscripted shows.
Expanding the Business — Then Pulling Back
In 2024, Clarkson added a new chapter to his rural ventures by acquiring The Farmer’s Dog, a country pub near Burford. The pub’s opening and early struggles featured in the most recent series.
However, Clarkson has since ruled out further business expansions, explaining in an interview that he no longer wishes to pursue additional commercial projects. He has said his focus is now on enjoyment rather than growth.
A Difficult Year at Diddly Squat Farm
The forthcoming fifth series is expected to document one of the most challenging periods the farm has faced. In late 2025, Diddly Squat was affected by a bovine tuberculosis outbreak, adding to a year already impacted by extreme weather conditions across the UK.
Clarkson has previously described 2025 as the most difficult year he has experienced in farming, pointing to reduced yields caused by prolonged heat and drought.

Television Income Helps Keep the Farm Running
Clarkson has openly acknowledged that income from the television series has played a vital role in keeping the farm operational during periods of poor harvests.
He has also highlighted that many farms facing similar conditions do not have the support of a television platform, underlining the financial pressures currently affecting the agricultural sector.
What Comes Next
With series five set to air in the coming months and production on series six already underway, Clarkson’s Farm looks likely to remain a fixture on Amazon Prime Video for the foreseeable future.
For viewers, that means more insight into the realities of farming life — and for Clarkson, another chapter in a project that continues to evolve well beyond its original concept.
