Parker Schnabel ADDS NEW WASH PLANT to RESCUE Failing Gold Season! | GOLD RUSH SEASON 15
Parker Schnabel’s High-Stakes Gamble with New Wash Plant ‘Bob’
A Struggling Season
Parker Schnabel is facing one of the toughest mining seasons of his career. Nine weeks in, the 29-year-old miner is behind on multiple fronts—short on both gold and pay dirt to process. Despite investing $2.2 million in his Dominion Creek operation, Parker has only recovered just over $1 million worth of gold so far. With costs piling up, he knows drastic measures are necessary.
“I have no interest in running out of money,” Parker admits. “We need to get more gold coming in.”

Introducing Bob: The New Wash Plant
To turn things around, Parker is pinning his hopes on a 45-ton wash plant named Bob. His bold plan involves deploying Bob to Indian River to strike richer pay dirt and increase gold recovery. If successful, Parker aims to recover $2.5 million worth of gold in just three weeks.
Operating three wash plants simultaneously—Big Red, Sluicifer, and Bob—is a first for Parker. The stakes are high, but he sees it as the only way to salvage his season and reach his ambitious goal of 10,000 ounces of gold.
The Risky Move to Indian River
Transporting Bob 12 miles from Dominion Creek to Indian River is no small feat. The journey involves navigating narrow dirt tracks and crossing a 25-foot-wide creek. Logistics manager Tyson Lee brings in experienced hauler Mike Tucker to oversee the move.
“These creek crossings are unpredictable,” warns Mike. “If we get stuck, we’re on our own.”
Despite the challenges, the crew successfully hauls Bob to its new site. With the help of Ken Stewart’s crew, Bob is assembled and set up. Parker feels a renewed sense of hope as he declares, “Everything’s looking good. Once we hit this button, it should be smooth sailing.”
Setbacks at Indian River
Just as operations with Bob get underway, disaster strikes—a large rip appears in the conveyor belt. Damian, one of Parker’s crew members, quickly assesses the situation. A loose fastener has caused extensive damage to the belt, putting the entire operation at risk.
“We’ve got Bill checking if we even have a 48-inch belt in stock,” Damian says urgently.
The crew scrambles to find a replacement belt. After a tense search, they locate one in the storage yard at Dominion Creek. Racing against time, they transport the belt back to Indian River, replace the damaged section, and fire up Bob again.
A Glimmer of Hope
Thanks to the team’s quick action, Bob is back in operation. With Big Red, Sluicifer, and Bob running simultaneously, Parker is finally seeing progress. “We just have to keep everything running for 24 hours straight,” he says. “If we can do that, we’ll keep the gold coming in the box.”

The Road Ahead
Despite the challenges, Parker’s crew remains determined. The conveyor belt crisis highlights their resilience and ability to adapt under pressure. However, with the harsh conditions of the Yukon wilderness, they know that new obstacles will continue to arise.
For now, Parker’s gamble on Bob is paying off, offering a much-needed boost in morale and production. Whether this bold strategy will lead to a successful season remains to be seen.
