The Cornelia Marie recently resurfaced with a dedicated Instagram account, announcing the involvement of multiple fishermen as co-owners. This new chapter highlights the boat’s continued life on the water, though there’s no confirmation if the vessel will reappear on the Discovery Channel series.

The Harris Family Legacy

Fans of Deadliest Catch know that the Cornelia Marie was once skippered by Phil Harris from Season 1 through Season 6. The Harris family’s tenure on the show was marked by triumphs and tragedy, including Phil Harris’s passing from an intracranial hemorrhage in 2010, which was captured on camera.

Transition to New Leadership

After Phil Harris’s death, Derrick Ray assumed skipper duties, while Phil’s son Josh Harris pursued his own spin-off series, Deadliest Catch: Bloodline. However, in 2022, Discovery severed ties with Josh Harris following the public disclosure of his past criminal record and legal issues.
