Parker Breaks His All-Time Record And Mines OVER 7.5K Ounces Of Gold! | Gold Rush

Parker Schnabel’s Record-Breaking Season Ends With a Last-Minute Gamble That Pays Off

When it looked like the season was on the brink of an early freeze-out, Parker Schnabel’s crew pulled off a near-miraculous final push, fueled not by high-tech gear or ideal conditions—but by a rented, half-functional relic of a wash plant and pure grit.

With only days before winter locked down the Yukon, Parker faced a big problem: he still had over 10,000 yards of pay dirt to run, but Big Red was in pieces for winter maintenance, and Sluicifer’s motor had burned out.

That left just one desperate option…

Enter: “Little Hope”

An old neighbor’s 120-yard-per-hour wash plant, sitting idle and collecting rust, became Parker’s last hope—dubbed, fittingly, “Little Hope.” It was far from ideal. One screen deck, sluggish feed control, and clearly not built for Parker’s high-yield operation. But with no time to waste, his crew got to work.

It’s definitely not like our wash plants,” Parker said. “But it’s going to wash some rocks. That’s all we need.”

A Race Against Time

The plant arrived late, was tricky to move, and stubborn to set up. Once running, it immediately started clogging up with boulders, jamming the screen deck and slowing everything to a crawl.

With winter days ticking away, Parker jumped in himself. His solution? Use an excavator and wood blocks to tilt the screen deck, helping large rocks roll off and keep the deck clear.

“Maybe it’ll do 30 yards an hour now,” he said. “It’s not the fastest thing, but it’s washing.”

The Final Weigh-In

Going into the last week, the crew had already pulled in 6,988 ounces of gold—just 412 ounces short of Parker’s all-time season record of 7,400 ounces.

The question: could three plants—Sluicifer, Big Red, and Little Hope—deliver just enough to break it?

Here’s how it played out:

  • Sluicifer: 225.95 oz
  • Big Red: 112.65 oz
  • Subtotal: 338.6 oz

With only 73 ounces needed to break the record, it all came down to Little Hope—the underdog.

Little Hope Delivers Big

Despite all the doubt, the final cleanup from Little Hope produced a jaw-dropping 178.3 ounces, smashing past expectations.

Final Season Total: 7,544.9 ounces.
A new personal best for Parker and the team.

A Season to Remember

Between the high-stakes $15 million Dominion Creek deal, the discovery of an ancient gold-rich abandoned mine, and the last-minute resurrection of a rusty wash plant, Parker Schnabel’s season had all the elements of a mining epic.

“We had a hell of a season,” he said. “And I wish Mitch was here to enjoy it too. He was a big part of this.”

As the crew stood around that final weigh-in, one thing was clear: gold mining isn’t just about machines or numbers—it’s about hustle, heart, and hope… even Little Hope.
