Gold Mining at Its Peak: Parker Schnabel’s Incredible 2025 Season Recap

Parker Schnabel Unearths Record-Breaking Gold Mine

Parker Schnabel and his crew have made a historic breakthrough in the Yukon, uncovering what could be the richest gold ground ever mined. With nearly 7,000 ounces of gold already recovered, this unprecedented discovery has the potential to reshape the gold mining industry.

Massive Mining Challenge at Indian River

Mitch Blaschke, Parker’s right-hand man, was tasked with the monumental job of mining 90 acres in a single season. By mid-season, the team had already extracted around 52,000 ounces from 60 acres. Despite mechanical breakdowns and adverse weather, progress remained steady.

Here's What 'Gold Rush's Parker Schnabel Splurges His Gold Mining Millions On

Big Red’s Grizzly Bar Failure and Swift Recovery

A critical breakdown occurred when the grizzly bars on their main wash plant, Big Red, failed. A six-hour emergency repair brought the plant back online. Initial cleanups after the repair yielded strong results—2,772 ounces from Big Red and 3,428 ounces from other areas, totaling 6,200 ounces worth nearly $1 million.

Crew Advancement and High Stakes Repairs

To maintain efficiency, Mitch promoted a promising new crew member from truck driving to loader operation. But the relentless pace triggered further issues—Big Red came to a standstill due to a blown screen. Mitch, Tyson, and Evans manually removed sharp rocks from the sluice runs and replaced the damaged deck, averting disaster.

Rewarding Loyalty with Solid Gold

In recognition of his team’s commitment, Parker gifted one crew member a solid gold ashtray crafted from 695 ounces of mined gold, worth $122,000—an emblem of both appreciation and the value of their hard work.

Gold Rush from the Runway and Payback Cuts

The team processed pay dirt from multiple locations. Initial gold from the Runway Cut totaled 51.66 ounces, valued over $90,000. Running Big Red at full capacity for a week was projected to yield half a million in gold. Meanwhile, Slucifer processed soil from the Payback Cut, returning 210 ounces and raising their total to 336.5 ounces—worth about $600,000.

Fred Lewis’ Wash Plant and Lessons in Equipment Management

Parker later visited Fred Lewis’ mining site between Fairbanks and Dawson, Alaska. Shocked by Fred’s basic setup and lack of proper screening equipment, Parker stressed the importance of high-quality maintenance—especially after similar screen failures cost his crew valuable recovery time.

Dangerous Relocation of the Wash Plant

As the season neared its end, Parker’s team faced the risky task of relocating their fully assembled wash plant. With no time to disassemble it, they carefully navigated the massive machinery along a runway they’d built earlier in the season, all while coordinating with incoming flights. After two hours of cautious movement, the plant was successfully positioned and leveled, ready to be reactivated.

Final Push with the Panama Canal Cut

With the wash plant running again, they began processing the Panama Canal cut. In just three days, Slucifer delivered 159 ounces of gold valued at $270,000. Additional cleanups brought in 300 ounces from Big Red and 219.9 ounces from the Repayment Cut. These results reignited hopes of surpassing last season’s totals.

Season Ends with $14 Million in Gold

In the final days, despite freezing conditions and a feeder blockage, the team pressed on through the night. Their final cleanup week yielded 388.13 ounces from Slucifer’s pre-wash and 248 ounces from the Panama Canal cut. The total for the week reached 629 ounces, bringing the season’s grand total to 8,118 ounces—slightly under last year’s 8,300 ounces but still valued at a staggering $14 million.
