The Cure Of Oak Island

The Hidden Tunnel at 95 Feet: A New Path to Oak Island’s Lost Vault?

Oak Island’s Biggest Breakthrough Yet? The Garden Shaft, The Swamp, and a Mysterious Boulder

“We built the shaft so we could investigate… so of course Marty and I are going down. How far is that down there?”
“Not very much further. I’ll just open this hatch here—get a better idea…”

Imagine you’ve just uncovered the legendary Oak Island treasure chest, instantly becoming a millionaire. That’s the level of excitement the team felt when they discovered a strange object—one that pointed them right back to the original Money Pit.

And now, with the Garden Shaft extended to over 90 feet deep, Rick and Marty Lagina believe they may be closer than ever to unlocking Oak Island’s greatest secret.

Into the Shaft: Following the Tunnel

The hope is simple—but profound.
Once the team hits 50 to 60 feet, they plan to drill both vertically and horizontally, searching for hidden tunnels and chambers. And that’s exactly what they found—a mysterious underground tunnel.

Could this be the elusive path to the treasure that’s remained hidden for over 200 years?

The Laginas Push Forward—But Face Tough Odds

People around the world are hooked on The Curse of Oak Island—drawn to the centuries-old mystery of a treasure buried deep beneath the island off Nova Scotia’s coast.

Despite the effort of countless treasure hunters, no one has ever claimed the ultimate prize. But now, Rick and Marty believe they’re finally zeroing in on the truth.

They refocused on the Garden Shaft and drilled downward, hoping to intersect with a suspected tunnel at 95 feet. Along the way, they uncovered bits of metal—small, but promising signs.

More importantly, they found clues to an underground wooden structure—a potential vault, chamber, or trap.

The Baby Blob and a Vault in H8

Dumas Contracting helped push the Garden Shaft to its new depths. While they hoped to find the so-called “baby blob”—a concentration of precious metals—the bigger excitement came from their past dig at borehole H8.

At around 170 feet, the H8 site produced old parchment, leather book bindings, and a marked item labeled “6”. When they tried to extend the borehole, they encountered dangerous instability—dirt collapsed inwards, and the dig had to be paused.

This mirrored a theory by Terry Matheson, who believed that any vault in the area may have been tampered with long ago.

But new ground scans gave them hope—showing promising voids and anomalies beneath. Could something still be hidden?

Swamp Secrets: The Stone Path and the Ancient Wharf

Their focus shifted back to the southeastern wetlands, near where the original Money Pit may have been. Here, they explored the ancient stone path—a mysterious cobblestone structure that might have once been a Templar wharf.

Gary Drayton, with his eye for metallic clues, found ship spikes, suggesting maritime activity. Alex Lagina was captivated by the implications: could the Knights Templar have landed treasure here?

The Boulder Near the Path: A Hidden Marker?

Then came another twist—a large, unusual boulder, sitting close to the stone path.
Billy Gerhardt uncovered a series of rocks forming a line, potentially a manmade trail leading to the boulder.

Could this be a hidden marker, a coded message, or even a cover stone?

Jack Begley speculated about what events might’ve unfolded there, while Rick and Marty called in stone experts Mike and Mark to analyze the area. They used metal detectors and ground-penetrating radar to scan every inch.

A Wooden Find—and the Clue to a Shipwreck

Gary Drayton found a strange wooden object, buried shallowly but shaped like it belonged to a ship’s deck. This explained why no metal signals had picked it up.

Marty compared it to past discoveries:
“This is similar to some of the planking we’ve found… but this is irregular. Wider at one end, thinner at the other.”

Could this be evidence of a shipwreck that brought the treasure to Oak Island?

Lot 5’s Ancient Foundation and Artifacts

Meanwhile, archaeologists at Lot 5 uncovered a stone foundation beneath a circular depression. Jaime Koopa and his team found:

  • A 14th-century lead trading token
  • Venetian glass beads dating back to the 1500s
  • Metal tools possibly linked to Sir William Phips

Each item hinted at different people from various time periods—all potentially linked to Oak Island’s legend.

Final Thoughts: Are We Closer Than Ever?

Around the evening campfires, the team theorized about pirates, colonial caches, Templar voyages, and even ancient civilizations. On Oak Island, no theory is off the table.

The team’s morale surged.
This wasn’t just a dig—it was a journey through time, and perhaps, into history.

With every layer peeled back, every rock moved, and every signal heard underground, they came closer to possibly rewriting the Oak Island mystery once and for all.

So—
Is this it? Are the Lagina brothers on the verge of discovering the legendary treasure?
Stay tuned, because on Oak Island… the next dig could change everything.
