Uncovering the Forbidden Tunnel: Oak Island’s Greatest Lead Ever!
Oak Island’s Greatest Lead Yet? Uncovering the Tunnel, the Wharf, and the Mysterious Rock
What if you were standing directly above the Oak Island treasure—the one buried secret that’s eluded hunters for over two centuries?
That’s the feeling the Lagina brothers had when they uncovered an unusual feature right beneath their feet—something that may finally point them back to where it all began: the original Money Pit.
With the Garden Shaft now drilled to over 90 feet, Rick and Marty believe the breakthrough they’ve waited years for might finally be within reach.

A Tunnel Beneath the Shaft? The Clue That Changes Everything
The plan is bold: as the shaft reaches depths between 50 and 60 feet, the team begins drilling outwards, searching for manmade tunnels buried in the darkness.
And incredibly, that’s what they seem to have found—a horizontal tunnel, precisely where it was predicted.
Is this the missing link that leads to the fabled vault?
The Curse Continues, But the Team Pushes Harder
Oak Island remains one of the most enduring mysteries in North America. From pirate gold to religious relics, the legends run deep. But no team has ever come closer than the current one.
As the shaft dropped below 95 feet, the team began intercepting pieces of metal debris—a promising sign of something manmade.
Soon after, their drilling hit resistance—wooden fragments deep underground. Could these be structural timbers from a hidden chamber or trap system?
Echoes of H8 and the Baby Blob Mystery
Much of the excitement ties back to the H8 borehole, where years earlier, the team discovered pieces of ancient parchment, leather book bindings, and a mysterious tag marked “6”—possibly from a chest.
That dig was stopped due to a sudden cave-in, supporting Terry Matheson’s theory that the vault may have collapsed long ago, either naturally or as a booby trap.
New scanning data from the Garden Shaft shows strange voids beneath—could the vault still be intact, waiting to be reached from the side?

Secrets of the Swamp: Maritime Clues and a Stone Wharf
Attention turned once again to the island’s eastern swamp—a location linked to ancient shipping activity.
Here, the team unearthed an old stone roadway that might once have been part of a Templar-era landing zone.
Metal detection revealed a number of hand-forged ship spikes. Gary Drayton believes these were part of a ship that offloaded treasure centuries ago.
Alex Lagina wondered aloud: Could this swamp have once been a dry harbor, where a ship secretly came ashore?
A Hidden Boulder: Just a Rock, or a Marker?
Excavator Billy Gerhardt uncovered a curved line of stones, all seemingly pointing toward a large, oddly shaped boulder.
This wasn’t just nature. Rick Lagina suspects it could be a navigation marker, or even a camouflaged access point.
They brought in experts to survey the area, and began a series of ground radar and magnetometer scans.
Buried Wood: Ship Fragment or Building Debris?
In one shallow dig, Gary Drayton uncovered a wooden object, warped and buried under sediment.
Marty noticed the shape looked too specific to be random: “One end is thicker than the other… This might be part of a deck or hatch.”
Could it be a remnant of the very ship that brought the treasure here? Or a construction element from a centuries-old structure?
Lot 5 Delivers Again: Foundations and Forgotten Artifacts
Lot 5 continues to produce some of the most intriguing finds on the island.
Jaime Koopa’s archaeological team uncovered what appears to be the foundation of an old structure, possibly dating back hundreds of years. Among the items discovered:
- A medieval lead token, likely used in 14th-century Europe
- Fragments of Venetian glass from the Renaissance period
- And tools possibly linked to historical figures like William Phips
Each object points to a different time and culture. What drew so many people to this island—and what were they all looking for?
The Final Clue?
As the sun set, the team gathered around to share theories:
Pirates hiding plunder…
Templars protecting sacred relics…
Colonists building secret vaults…
Each possibility was more thrilling than the last.
But one thing was clear: with every new discovery, the island’s story becomes less of a legend—and more of a history waiting to be proven.
So…
Are the Lagina brothers truly on the brink of uncovering the island’s greatest secret?
Or is the island preparing to test them once more?
Only time—and digging—will tell.
