They brought in experts to survey the area, and began a series of ground radar and magnetometer scans.

In one shallow dig, Gary Drayton uncovered a wooden object, warped and buried under sediment.
Marty noticed the shape looked too specific to be random: “One end is thicker than the other… This might be part of a deck or hatch.”

Jaime Koopa’s archaeological team uncovered what appears to be the foundation of an old structure, possibly dating back hundreds of years. Among the items discovered:
- A medieval lead token, likely used in 14th-century Europe
- Fragments of Venetian glass from the Renaissance period
- And tools possibly linked to historical figures like William Phips
