Oak Island Team Gets Closer to Uncovering the Treasure Mystery

During a drilling operation at a depth of 118 feet, the team discovered a vertical wooden beam, believed to be part of the collapsed tunnel. This discovery strengthens the hypothesis that the treasure may have been scattered across the area. Based on the data gathered, the team plans to continue drilling further east to pinpoint the exact location of the original Money Pit.

Additionally, at the wash table near borehole 10X, the team discovered a round, heavy object, possibly a grapeshot or cannonball dating back to the 15th century. After analysis, expert Gary Drayton confirmed that it was a “gun stone,” a type of projectile used before iron cannonballs, commonly fired from blunderbuss guns on ships. This find could link to theories about the historical origins of those who might have been involved with Oak Island’s mystery.

Not stopping there, the team also found signs of another tunnel at a depth of 75 feet in borehole CD4.5. In this same area, a metal object was discovered. After analysis with an XRF (X-ray fluorescence) machine, the object was found to contain gold traces, adding further intrigue to the search.

Lastly, the team held a memorial ceremony for Dan Blankenship, one of the pioneers of the Oak Island search, who dedicated over 50 years of his life to the mystery. A plaque was placed at the site of borehole 10X, where he believed treasure could be hidden.

Although a major breakthrough hasn’t yet been made, these new discoveries have brought the team closer than ever to solving the centuries-old mystery of Oak Island. The traces of tunnels, precious metals, and artifacts continue to fuel the belief that a treasure lies buried beneath the island, awaiting discovery.
