Jeremy previously confirmed that season six was commissioned by Prime Video, and is set to air in summer 2027.

He also told The Sun: “We’ll definitely do six – Amazon want to (do series six) and I want to. I’ve got a good idea for six.

“I said I’ll stop doing them when there are no more ideas. But I’ve got two quite good ones, so we’ll do six and then we’ll see…”

But at the end of series five, he said: “We started season five with me in a hospital bed and here we are at the end of season five and I’m back in a hospital bed…

“What I wanted to say was if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six, and if it isn’t, I won’t. Take care, everyone.”
