Clarkson’s Farm – Oxfordshire politician ‘relieved’ scenes were cut

An elected Oxfordshire representative has addressed his appearances in Clarkson’s Farm season five after viewers spotted him in scenes of the hit show.

County Conservative leader and West Oxfordshire District councillor Liam Walker can be glimpsed in the latest Amazon Prime series – in scenes at Jeremy Clarkson’s pub, a farming protest and a police incident.

Filmed at Diddly Squat, in Chadlington, the series follows the trials and tribulations of being a farmer in Britain.
Mr Walker noted that his appearances in the series are all “very brief” and he is relieved his singing at a Farmers Dog gig did not make the final cut.

He said: “It seems a few eagle-eyed viewers have spotted me making appearances in the latest series of Clarkson’s Farm.

“It was great to be invited along to see The Corrs perform at the Farmers Dog, and I’m just relieved that my singing didn’t make it onto the big screen.”
He added: “The Farmers Dog and Diddly Squat Farm Shop near Chadlington are tremendous assets to West Oxfordshire.

“While there have been challenges along the way, Jeremy Clarkson and his team have always been accommodating and constructive in their approach.

“Both venues continue to attract thousands of visitors to our area, providing a significant boost to the local farming economy, and helping to showcase West Oxfordshire and the wider Cotswolds to a global audience.”

Previously, Mr Walker has said the 66-year-old broadcaster would “certainly be welcome” to join the Tory party and praised his activism over agricultural inheritance tax changes.
