Clarkson’s Farm star Lisa Hogan to host ITV dating show as it returns after 17 years

Clarkson’s Farm star Lisa Hogan is ditching Diddly Squat for her own dating show, with the TV personality set to host ITV’s Farming for Love.

The new series is based on Farmer Wants a Wife – ITV’s reality series that saw farmers choose a spouse from a selection of city-based women. It aired in 2001 for one series before being revived by Channel 5 in 2009.

The format is now set to return under the name of Farming for Love, with Hogan helping unlucky-in-love countrymen and women find their mate.

Announcing the show on ITV’s This Morning, Hogan – whose partner is former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson – urged those at home to apply.
“There are lots of farmers out there looking for love and we have four people who are just gorgeous,” she said. “If you want to apply, you should – and apply for your friends and apply for your family.”

The ITV morning show then showed off the four contestants taking part in the dating competition – starting with Wiltshire-based Guy, 29, who runs a beef farm.
“It’s a bit lonely driving around all day and checking cattle,” he told viewers. “You just want someone to come out with you at the weekend or the evening when you’ve got to do a calf. It would be really nice to share that moment with people.”

He’ll be joined on the show by 68-year-old Chris, who’s been farming for most of his life in North Yorkshire and is looking for love again after the death of his wife. “It’s been a tough old time the last three and a bit years but I don’t want to do it on my own and there’s somebody out there who’s so special. I know there is. She’s out there,” he said.

The first woman taking part in the UK franchise is 24-year-old Dana, a dairy farmer who has been working in the industry for five years. “I want somebody who’s not afraid of hard work. It’s so worth it – everything that you put into it, you so 100 per cent get out of it again,” she said.

Rounding out the line-up is Wrexham farmer George, 29, who is looking for a date to his best friend’s wedding. “I’ve been given strict criteria, I need to find a date so here we are – what better way to do it?”

Hogan has been in a relationship with Clarkson since 2017, with the pair filming reality show Clarkson’s Farm together. The Prime Video series follows them as they attempt to cultivate Clarkson’s 1,000-acre Chipping Norton farm.

The new series is set for release in June, with upcoming episode set to focus on the most heartbreaking time on the farm yet as it suffers from an outbreak of bovine tuberculosis.
